Oh, thank God I'm not alone!! I really, really want to like android, even though I find Java class heirarchies are usually between 3 and 666 times deeper than they should be. But every time I try to complain how hard Google have made it for me to like Android, some fanboy always runs past and kicks me in the

I haven't made an Android app yet but I'm thinking about it. And the IDE being Eclipse would be a big plus for me! I use Eclipse for all of my coding (with the FDT plugin for Actionscript, Aptana for HTML/JS/CSS/PHP and JDT for the occasional bit of Java) and I really like it as an IDE. Maybe I just got used to it - I remember it being overwhelming when I first started. But the only other IDE I've used which comes close is Visual Studio for C# coding - and I still I prefer Eclipse.

That said, I haven't got as far as downloading the Android SDK yet and it sounds like all your other points are valid... So maybe I won't be building an Android app even if I when I do find some spare time...
