I was surprised also at how low level SCUMM is. It's really more a set of resources than a finished product. I was expecting to just type in the graphics, sounds etc. But you need to do a lot of programming too. It would be great if someone would write the scripts for Day of the Tentacle, for example. Ordinary people could then just use this templeate to make a similar game. Do you have such a template?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In fact the Adventure Game Studio, althogh it has a fancy interface, *is just as low level* as SCUMM. The user needs to enter specific scripts for everything. AGS has a C-like language complete with function calls and pointers and there are 500+ functions to memorise. So it actually requires just a much programming as SCUMMC.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Also I don't like AGS much as the paradigm seems to be all about moving sprites which bump into each other, rather like an arcade game. I like Scumm as the player character does not really play an essential role in the game.
